RainTech respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share through our website and related communications. This Privacy Policy explains what information RainTech collects through rain.tech, how that information is used, when it may be shared, and what choices are available to you.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through RainTech’s public-facing website, including contact forms, newsletter signups, analytics tools, bot-detection technology, and communication preference requests submitted through the website. This website and the services offered through it are intended for users located in the United States. RainTech does not target individuals located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions whose data protection laws may impose additional requirements not addressed in this Privacy Policy.

How to update preferences and opt out
Existing clients may request updates to their preferences for service-related phone calls and text messages by using RainTech’s Client Communication Preferences page, by replying STOP to a supported RainTech text message, or by contacting RainTech’s Service Desk through the contact methods listed on the website.

RainTech will honor other opt-out and preference requests within 10 business days, subject to operational, legal, security, and account-support requirements.
No sharing of opt-in data
Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent information, and service communication preference information are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or with affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Cookies, Analytics, Bot Detection, and Tag Management
RainTech uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, understand how visitors use the website, secure the website, and improve performance and usability. Cookies are small text files stored on a device that help websites recognize a browser, remember preferences, and gather analytics information.
Google Analytics
RainTech uses Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors interact with the website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, referring sources, browser information, device information, and general geographic information derived from IP addresses. RainTech uses this information to understand website traffic and improve website functionality and content. Information collected through Google Analytics is also governed in part by Google’s privacy practices.
reCAPTCHA and bot detection
RainTech uses Google reCAPTCHA (or a similar service) on website forms to distinguish human submissions from automated bot submissions. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information — such as device and application data, IP address, and behavioral information from the user’s interaction with the form — and transmits that information to Google for analysis. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Tag management
RainTech uses Google Tag Manager to manage analytics and similar tags on the website. Google Tag Manager itself does not collect personal information; the tags it loads may collect information as described in this Section.
Cookie controls
Most web browsers allow users to control cookies through browser settings. You may set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent, although some website features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. RainTech also provides cookie controls through the cookie notice presented on the website.
Global Privacy Control
Where required by applicable law, RainTech will treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal or other recognized universal opt-out mechanism, sent through a browser or device, as a valid request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or processing for purposes of “targeted advertising,” as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy law. RainTech does not currently engage in such activities through the website.
7. When We Share Information
RainTech does not sell personal information collected through the website. RainTech does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not use personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
RainTech may share personal information in the following limited circumstances:
(i) With service providers that help operate the website, email communications, analytics, hosting, bot detection, customer relationship management, or related business functions, provided that those providers are contractually limited to using the information for the services they provide to RainTech
(ii) With professional advisers, auditors, insurers, or legal counsel where reasonably necessary
(iii) To comply with law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other valid legal process
(iv) To protect RainTech’s rights, safety, systems, property, or users, including to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
(v) In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards
RainTech does not share mobile opt-in data, SMS consent data, or service communication preference data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional use.
8. Client Data, HIPAA, and Business Associate Status
In the course of providing services to clients, RainTech may handle client data that includes sensitive, confidential, regulated, or protected information, including protected health information (PHI) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and its implementing regulations (“HIPAA”).
That information is processed under separate client agreements, including master service agreements, statements of work, and, where applicable, business associate agreements (“BAAs”). The terms of those agreements govern RainTech’s collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of client data and PHI.
Where RainTech acts as a Business Associate to a HIPAA-covered entity, RainTech does not issue a Notice of Privacy Practices. Individuals’ HIPAA rights with respect to their PHI — including rights of access, amendment, accounting of disclosures, and restriction — are exercised through the covered entity, not through this website Privacy Policy. Individuals who wish to exercise HIPAA rights with respect to their PHI should contact the covered-entity provider, plan, or other organization that maintains the relevant medical record.
This website Privacy Policy describes information collected through the public website and related website-based interactions. It is not a substitute for, and does not amend or supersede, contractual or regulatory terms governing client data processed as part of RainTech’s service delivery environment.
9. Data Retention
RainTech retains personal information collected through the website only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including responding to inquiries, maintaining subscriptions, processing preference requests, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting RainTech’s legitimate business interests.
Retention generally varies by category as follows:
(i) Contact-form inquiries and related correspondence: typically retained for the duration of the related business inquiry, plus a reasonable period for follow-up and audit purposes
(ii) Newsletter subscribers: retained while the subscription is active and for a reasonable wind-down period following unsubscribe to honor the opt-out
(iii) Website analytics data: retained according to the data retention setting configured in the underlying analytics platform
(iv) SMS and communication-preference records: retained as needed to honor the preference and to demonstrate compliance with applicable telecommunications and consumer-protection laws
(v) Security, audit, and incident-investigation logs: retained for the period required by RainTech’s security and incident-response practices and applicable law
Specific retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information, the context in which it was collected, applicable legal requirements, and operational needs.
10. Data Security
RainTech maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and RainTech cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users should avoid sending highly sensitive information through general website forms unless specifically requested and appropriately secured.
11. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
(i) Request access to, or a copy of, personal information RainTech has collected about you through the website
(ii) Request correction of inaccurate personal information
(iii) Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal, contractual, and operational limitations
(iv) Opt out of marketing email communications
(v) Update service-related phone and text communication preferences through the Client Communication Preferences page or other methods described in this Privacy Policy
(vi) Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or processing for purposes of “targeted advertising,” as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy law. RainTech does not engage in any of those activities with respect to information collected through the website
How to submit a request
To make a privacy-related request, please contact RainTech using the information in Section 15. RainTech may request information necessary to verify your identity before processing certain requests. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification of the agent’s authority and your identity.
Non-discrimination
RainTech will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right described in this Privacy Policy.
Right to appeal
If RainTech denies a privacy-related request, you may appeal that decision by contacting RainTech using the information in Section 15 with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” RainTech will respond to the appeal within the timeframe required by applicable law and explain its decision. If your appeal is denied, you may have the right to submit a complaint to the Attorney General of your state.
California notice
RainTech does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. California residents may exercise the rights described above by contacting RainTech using the information in Section 15.
Colorado notice
RainTech is headquartered in Colorado. RainTech does not engage in the sale of personal information or the processing of personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are defined under the Colorado Privacy Act. Where the Colorado Privacy Act applies, RainTech honors valid universal opt-out mechanisms (such as Global Privacy Control signals) for the rights they communicate.
12. Children’s Privacy
RainTech’s website is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 13. RainTech does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. If RainTech becomes aware that personal information has been submitted by a child in violation of applicable law, RainTech will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
RainTech’s website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services that are not controlled by RainTech. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites or services, and RainTech is not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Users should review the privacy policies of third-party sites before providing information to them.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
RainTech may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, legal requirements, website features, technologies, service providers, or data handling practices. When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will provide additional notice where appropriate, such as by posting a prominent notice on our website, sending notice through a communication method we regularly use, or taking other steps required by applicable law. Material changes may include changes to the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use personal information, the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information, or the methods available for exercising privacy rights.
If applicable law requires consent before we use personal information previously collected for a materially different, incompatible, or new purpose, we will obtain consent before applying that change to the previously collected information.
